    Abstract

    This research outlines the patterns of Iraqi Turkmen international migration with reference to their population characteristics and the conflicts and wars Iraq witnessed throughout the last two decades or so. Iraqi Turkmen found fleeing their country in response to Arabisation policies. Most Turkmen migrants are also looking for socioeconomic betterment as they fled to the Western European countries. They are relatively highly educated and better of than their neighbours in Iraq.
