Abstract

The characteristics of Graphlite precured rods and ways in which the rods can be incorporated in structures are discussed. The concept of overwinding rod elements with Kevlar under very high tension is presented. It is shown that this suppresses splitting and sensitivity to impact, lending to a highly damage tolerant form of material.
