Abstract
Quaternary vertebrates are found in a variety of environments across the world, and have received a great deal of research attention, having also played a key role in the demonstration of the antiquity of humans. Analysis of vertebrate remains and trace fossils can provide information about vertebrate morphology and behavior, in addition to aiding understanding of the environments they inhabited. Newly discovered deposits and improving techniques are enhancing understanding of vertebrates and palaeoenvironmental conditions. Furthermore, this understanding can be used to address some of the most pressing environmental and conservation issues today.
