Abstract

We describe the Visualising China semantic web project that aims to create an authoritative open access resource of historical photographs to support research, teaching and learning. This is a large and complex project, but in this paper we concentrate on the innovative visualisation aspects of the work and how they have been designed to contribute to and benefit from user-contributed content.
