Abstract
We present an improved error correction approach for digital audio watermarking by modelling of the watermark channel noise. The method uses a turbo coding algorithm that takes into consideration variations of the host audio's statistical properties in time domain, using a turbo decoder that estimates the unknown host audio disutribution in the watermarked audio. Test results showed roughly one order of magnitude of the BER decrease in watermark extraction, compared to the basic turbo decoding without noise estimation.
