Spin and Charge Correlations in Cuprate Superconductors

Student thesis: Doctoral ThesisDoctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Abstract

The field of scattering in high Tc cuprates is renowned for its complex multifaceted nature as well as its long history spanning an era of rapid advancement in instrumentation. The work contained in this thesis, however, has as a common thread the study of a transitional region in the cuprate phase diagram on the hole-doped side. This region spans from the weakening of the pseudogap regime, which features
multiple competing density wave ordering instabilities, and continues up until the endpoint of strongly correlated physics beyond the superconducting dome which is also the onset of recognizable Fermi liquid properties.
