This thesis presents the investigation of the superconducting properties of a small optimally doped YBCO single crystal under both ambient and applied pressure conditions. Through DC magnetization measurements, the superconducting transition temperature was determined to be Tc ≈ 93.2K, while the lower critical field Hc1 was measured as approximately 135 Oe. Trapped flux measurements were introduced and conducted within a moissanite anvil cell for high-pressure studies, addressing that this method is feasible to provide reliable and large signal for a small sample. Meanwhile, the background magnetic response of the pressure cell detected with our method is small since the measurement was done in zero-field. A non-linear relationship between applied pressure and the critical current density Jc were obtained. This study provides valuable insights into the pressure-tuning of superconducting properties of YBCO single crystal.
