I am a post-doctoral fellow funded by the National Institute of Health Research. My research is primarily focused on understanding peer, social and family influences on adolescent alcohol use and the development of interventions to prevent harmful alcohol consumption. My current research programme involves development of a digital intervention (REACH Online) to prevent excessive alcohol use and related harms in young people, and a qualitative study (the VIDA study) of the views and attitudes of parents/caregivers regarding their child(ren)’s alcohol use. Further details about the VIDA study can be found here.

I am also leading a Cochrane systematic review which examines the effectiveness of individual-, family- and school-level interventions for preventing multiple risk behaviours in young people.

My previous research has included investigation of the role of opiate substitution treatment in preventing HIV and Hepatitis C among people who inject drugs.
